Mental Health Committee

The Mental Health Committee (MHC) is a standing committee within the Boston University Student Government. MHC works to raise awareness on various mental health issues and combat stigma through discussion, events, and proposals for change. Our advocacy efforts are centered on destigmatizing mental health, connecting students to on and off-campus resources, and relaying feedback and opinions from students to administration.

Here’s what we do:

Initiatives

Our committee is focused on representing students’ mental health needs to administrators. If you have any ideas for initiatives or things you would like to address, please fill out our open response form and let us know! Click “Initiatives” to learn more about what we are currently working on.

Resources

We have created a resource bank of mental health and wellbeing resources you can find when you click “Resources”. If there is a specific resource you need and or would like to see added, please reach out to us at sgmhc@bu.edu.

Events

We host various events centered around mental health throughout the year. Some of these include tabling at the George Sherman Union (GSU), focused fairs like our Mental Health Fair, or more casual and fun events to relax and unwind. We also offer stress-less workshops to any student organization. Click “Events” to learn more.
